Aluminum Bat requirements changing in 2007 for Majors and below.

 

If you are thinking of buying a bat soon and plan to use it through 2007 please read

on as the bat requirements in 2007 will change for Little League.

 

Current rules state that a Little League aluminum bat in Majors and below be a

 baseball bat and that it is no longer that 33" and 2-1/4" in diameter.

 

A softball aluminum bat for Majors and below must be a softball bat

no longer than 33" and 2-1/4" in diameter.

 

The new rule coming into affect for 2007 will be that an aluminum bat

must have a Bat Performance Factor (BPF) of  a -1.15 and be 2-1/4" diameter

in both baseball and softball Major league and below.

 

Aluminum bats must have the BPF printed on the bat.

Only baseball bats will be used for baseball games and softball bats for softball games.

 Softball bats are normally referred to as bottle bats due to it shape.
